We LOVE working with Meeting and Event Planners….several members of our Boundless Collection team, myself included, were Event Planners prior to joining the world of promotional marketing. We “get” the role of a planner- the energy, creativity, passion, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and the overall balancing act of coordinating all aspects of an event. It’s a BIG job!! At Boundless Collection, our role is to deliver quality products, on time, that communicate the theme and create the desired impact or behavior change for our clients.
Today’s blog features an example of a pre-event teaser we created as part of an overall promotional campaign strategy for our client’s upcoming incentive trip to Cabo San Lucas. The planner requested help with a promotion that would introduce the incentive trip rules (increase sales revenue over prior year) while creating excitement among the participants (their customers) during the enrollment process and engage them to want to earn their place on the trip!
We created a complete marketing communications plan to generate timely “touches” throughout the promotional period. We designed the 5-Star Getaway logo, a complete print campaign, monthly marketing e-mails and developed a website that featured the contest rules, highlighted the destination and provided monthly sales updates on their progress towards their individual purchase goals. We also created three merchandise mail outs that were sent directly to the participant’s home addresses throughout the qualifying period. Sending mailers to their homes always helps to engage their significant other in the promotion- when the significant other WANTS to go, it encourages a persuasive “push” to achieve from another very important influencer!
These are images of our first mailer to launch the promotion. It included a set of shot glasses made from Himalayan sea salt (named one of Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2013), a bamboo cutting board, fresh limes and a printed brochure featuring the hotel in Cabo and promotion details. The exterior of the box featured an attention grabbing decal with an image of the property and the trip logo. Would you want to open this package if it arrived on your doorstep? The promotion was a huge success! The client sent the mailer to a select group of customers with a goal of enrolling 50 participants in the promotion; 50 customers enrolled within 10 days of receiving this package!
